Max. size:  5 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 25 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from East Africa, to Papua New Guinea; north to Japan and south to New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Intertidal and shallow sublittoral levels (Ref. 345). Shallow burrower of sand (Ref. 345) and gravelly sand (Ref. 801). Suspension feeder (Ref. 108437).

Threat to humans:  harmless
