Description of life cycle and mating behavior | Members of the superorder Acrothoracica are gonochoric and sexually dimorphic, males are smaller in size. Eggs are brooded in the mantle cavity. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into nauplii which are retained in the atrium and are then released into the water when they reach the cypris stage, they then find a suitable substratum afterwhich females metamorphose into adults while the males kept attach to the females before they metamorphose into adults. |
