Zoea I stage - Carapace: Globose, smooth, without tubercules, with a pair of setae on the posterodorsal region. Rostral spine present and straight. Dorsal and lateral spines present and well developed. Eyes sessile. Abdomen: Five abdominal somites; second somite bearing short dorsolateral projections, third somite bearing a small downward-pointed hook on each side; third, fourth and fifth somites with postero-lateral subacute processes. Two small setae on the postero-dorsal margin of abdominal somite 2-5. Pleopods absent. Telson with large lateral spine, one small lateral seta, and one dorsal spine at the base of the lateral process. Three plumodenticulate present on the inner margin of each furca. Antennule: Uniramous. Endopod absent. Exopod unsegmented, with four long aesthetascs and one simple seta. Antenna: Protopod well developed, as long as rostral spine, with two rows of minute spines on its distal half. Exopod greatly reduced, less than one-seventh the length of protopod, and bearing two short terminal unequal sized setae. Mandible: Stout incisor process, molar processes developed. Endopod palp absent. Maxillule: Coxal endite with five plumose setae. Basal endite with two plumodenticulate cuspidate setae and three plumose setae. Endopod two-segmented with a small plumose setae on the proximal segment, and six plumose setae (two subterminal and four terminal) on the distal segment. Maxilla: Coxal and basal endites bilobed with 4 + 3 and 5 + 4 plumodenticulate setae. The proximal lobe of the endopod bears one long plumodenticulate and one plumose seta and the distal lobe bears three plumose and one long plumodenticulate seta. Scaphognathite with four marginal setose setae and very stout posterior process. First maxilliped: Basis with 10 medial plumose setae arranged 2 + 2 + 3 + 3. Endopod fivesegmented with 2, 2, 0, 2, 5 (one subterminal plus four terminal) plumose setae. Exopod two-segmented with four terminal plumose setae. Second maxilliped: Basis with four plumose setae arranged 1 + 1 + 1 + 1. Endopod threesegmented with 1, 1, 5 (one subterminal plus four terminal) plumose setae. Exopod two-segmented with four terminal plumose setae.
