Short description Morphology

Colonies usually columnar and columns are club-shaped and slightly flattened. Corallites are widely separated and circular in outline, green with yellow oral discs.

Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
