Short description Morphology

Shell very large, heavy. Spire short. Shell surface with fine reticulated sculpture and knobby projections on body whorl. Parietal shield large and well defined, triangular. Outer lip with inner tooth-like projections. Colour: brownish cream with large patch of brown at centre of parietal shield. Outer lip entirely cream or cream white with brown between teeth.

Occurs on sand bottoms (sometimes buried) near seagrass beds, at shallow subtidal depths (Ref. 355). This is also found on offshore coral reefs, on algae, sand and seagrass habitats (Ref. 83934).
