10 m high, 14 m wide each pedalium with 7 to 9 fingers and tentacles, irregularly placed; each of the four gastric saccules gives rise to two finger shaped, hernia-like sacs.
Neritic, estuarine, potentially pathogenic (Ref. 116114). Second most abundant species in their plankton. July bloom is common at Hudson Creek and Duplin River. Species overwinters in estuaries (Ref. 61060).
