He is a benthic ecologist interested in evaluating the impacts of anthropogenic disturbances on trophic structure and ecosystem function directed through overfishing, physical habitat disturbance, and marine pollution. His experience is largely focused on nearshore and tropical habitats including coral reefs, seagrass beds and sandy beaches in the Caribbean as well as in the Indo-Pacific region. He has spent considerable time working with queen conch (Aliger gigas), helmets (e.g. Cassis tuberosa), spiny lobsters (panulirids) and ghost crabs (Ocypode quadrata) and associated swash prey (Donax, Emerita). He contributes publications to SeaLifeBase. |
