Geography and Climate |
Cape Verde consists of ten islands and five islets, all of volcanic origin. Most are mountainous and support lush vegetation at higher elevations (watered by moisture condensation).

Lakes: there are no lakes of any size.
Rivers, floodplains and swamps: most islands possess short streams up to 15 km long, which can remain dry for several years.
