Found in main river channels, smaller tributaries, lakes, and (seasonally) the flooded forest. Feeds on a large variety of fishes, generally near the bottom; prey have hard outer shells, and they sometimes feed in a coordinated manner, occassonally with Sotalia (Ref. 1394).
