It is an infaunal and epifaunal species on Zostera sp. (Ref. 95819). Also inhabits the brown alga Ascophyllum nodosum and epiphytes such as Ceramium nodulosum and Pilayella littoralis (Ref. 104685). Prefers silty substrates (Ref. 95753). Feeds on microalgae (Refs. 95728, 104685), fucoid tissue, and bacteria (Ref. 104685).

Members of the order Isopoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Mating usually occurs before and sometimes during the parturial molt. Sperm transfer is indirect. Life cycle: Eggs are brooded in the marsupium, which later hatch into manca postlarva before developing into adults.
