Short description Morphology

45 cm wide and 33 cm high, when contracted; about 5 cm thick at center, exumbrella smooth; in each 14 to 20 oval velar lappets with numerous radial grooves; the mouth-arms have no definite terminal clubs, but numerous filamentous and large fusiform appendages between the mouths.

Warm-water estuarine species (Ref. 122299). Lives in coastal sea waters throughout its life cycle (Ref. 122298). Drifts near rocky bottom at depths of 10 to 20 m near the mouth of a bay (Ref. 94879).
