Assumed maximum total length in 3.5 cm (Ref. 2266), maximum colony diameter is 5 cm (Ref. 2268). Found on rocky substrate, on concrete, cave walls, often among oysters (Ref. 1134), dwelling in shallow rocky littoral habitats, particularly bays and harbours. Solitary (Ref. 2266). Known as benthic species (Ref. 85347).
