Orange. Erect, cylindrical branches; single or divided. Surface composed of thin, semi horizontal lamellae. Tough consistency (Ref. 81728). Branching or bushy, with small branching processes with bifurcate ends stretching over a dermal skin. Brown beige in alcohol or in dry condition (Ref. 81712).
Known from coral reefs at depths between 13 to 20 m (Ref. 81712).

Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge.
