Diagnosis Shell moderate in size, with 6 or more rounded whorls. Usually decollate, sutures are impressed. Numerous strong axial ribs present on each whorl, about 15 on body whorl. Outer lip flared and thickened; canals indistinct; columella smooth and thickened. Shell is grey, with the aperture being greyish white. Operculum is light brown and horny.
