Diagnosis Maximum Total Length: 2.5 centimeters. Girdle: Thin, black, naked; extends upward over the valves except over the narrow; beaded dorsal area. Exposed valves: Appear as streak of white paint along the top of the chiton. Suture: Each has a minute pore bearing short bristles on the girdle, but very difficult to view (Ref.281).
