Diagnosis | Females are 0.8 to 1 cm in length and 1.1 to 1.5 cm in width. In both live and preserved specimens, they are whitish-yellowish in color and have tiny dark visible eyes. Its antennae is absent or strongly reduced and the pereopods are small. Oostegites large flaps forming completely enclosed marsupium, which contains thousands of embryos. Males on the other hand are 0.3 to 0.5 in length. They are whitish in color and have visibly small elongated eyes. Pereon segments with small pereopods. Pleotelson is very small, that looks like an inflated tubercle. |
