Diagnosis This species can be easily distinguished from its closely similar species (M. denudata, M. inermis) by the following set of characters: having deep furrows on the dorsal surface of the carapace and rugae on the pterygostomian flap (vs. smooth in M. denudata and in M. inermis; armed frontal margin of the carapace with a minute antennal spine (vs. unarmed in M. denudata and M. inermis; armed anterolateral angle with a small spine (vs. unarmed in M. denudata and M. inermis; presence of an acute triangular rostrum (vs. broad in M. denudata; armed flexor margin of the Mxp3 with two proximal spines (vs. one strong proximal spine in M.denudata; P1-4 have spines (vs. unarmed in M. denudata and in M. inermis; armed dactyli flexor margin with minute spines (vs. unarmed in M. inermis (Ref. 128308).
Ease of Identification easy to distinguish from other species.
