Diagnosis Shell solid, with large last whorl and small, pointed spire. Whorls with single row of nodulose spines on periphery; spines larger on last whorl. Anterior and 'stromboid' notches present. Posterior angle of outer lip distinct, projected in posterior direction. Operculum sickle-shaped, animal with elongate foot used for leaping. Colour: variable, from yellowish to light or dark orange, interior of aperture white, anterior end dark purple.
