Thalli dark green when fresh, generally solitary and anchored in sandy to sandy-muddy substrate by a well-developed bulbous holdfast. Blade flat, flabellate to reniform, with the outer margin entire or finely fibrous, supported by a short, flat stalk; blade-like filaments yellowish orange, cylindrical and 32 to 50 μm in diameter, dichotomously branched and strongly constricted at the dichotomies. Blade is 3 to 6 cm in height (Ref. 80758).
Generally solitary (Ref. 83643). Commonly found in the intertidal zone growing on sandy-muddy substrate of reef flats and in shallow protected waters (Ref. 80758), i.e., sheltered lagoons, seagrass vegetation and beach-side channels to 20 cm deep (Ref. 83643).
