It has a total body length of 6 to 14 (male) and 10 to 14 (female); and carapace lengths of 3 to 6 cm (males) and 4.5 to 6 cm (females) (Ref. 4). Occurs at depths from 300 to 400 m, mostly at 350 m (Ref. 4).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
