This species is found on wave exposed rocks in intertidal areas to 40 meters in depth. It is known to feed on algal mats on the shells of fissurellid gastropods (Ref. 87801).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
