It has lengths of 38 and 30 cm, total body lengths respectively; 15.5 cm, maximum carapace length (Ref. 4). Occurs 30 m deep in sublittoral areas on rocky, rarely gravelly bottom (Ref. 4).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
