Envenomations by nematocysts on the bell, and victims developed Irukandji syndrome (Ref. 129071). Associated with juvenile leatherjacket fishes, which were reported to be living inside the subumbrellar cavity. Whether the fish preys on the jellyfish is unknown (Ref. 116579).
