Intertidal to subtidal. Recorded in estuarine or brackish waters. Found among mangroves (Ref. 106854). In rocky shores and coral reefs. Juveniles were found in seagrass beds or under stones on intertidal flats (Ref. 130618).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
