Maximum depth from Ref. 109199. This species is found at depths of 0.5 to 12 m, in coral reefs and rocky bottoms (Ref. 83916). Intertidal up to a depth of 55 m (Ref. 91956). In Belize, it was found in a submarine cave near Columbus Cay at a depth of 10 m (Ref. 87209).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
