1 to 1.5 cm (up to 2.5 cm) high, narrow, funnel-shaped, bell-margin quadratic, with 8 clusters of secondary tentacles arranged in 4 interradial pairs, each with up to 25 tentacles; 8 gonads, band-shaped, in 4 interradial pairs.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
