It has a height of 0.8 to 1.2 cm (Ref. 338). Identified as a possible Lessepsian migrant, present at least in Red Sea and eastern Mediterranean (Ref. 85347). Habitat: Occurs in reef areas with a depth of 1 to 3 m where conditions of low light intensity prevail. Diet: diatoms Navicula sp., Nitzschia sp. and Thalassiosira sp., and dinoflagellates Protoperidinium sp. and Triceratium sp.. Life span: 60 days (Ref. 338).

Reproduction: Within 12 hours of release, tadpole-like larvae attach to surfaces by three anterior suckers. The tadpoles then develop and metamorphose into juvenile filter feeders within 24 hours (Ref. 338).
