Known from mangroves (Ref. 86642) tidal inlets, sounds, caves, shallow coastal benthic habitats (< 25 m), deeper coastal substrates (25- 100m) of the offshore fore-reef slope, upper slope (> 100m), tops of Challenger and Argus seamounts (Ref. 86643).

Members of the order Leptothecata include L-form hydroids. Life cycle: The zygote develops into planula and later into polyp then into free-swimming medusa.
