Collected for food by villagers from the Southeast Asian area to eastern Polynesia (Ref. 349). Common on rocky shores exposed to wave action, from mid-intertidal zone to shallow subtidal levels. Occurs at the mid tide mark (Ref. 349). Nacellidae are herbivores, grazing on algae and lichens (Ref. 108684).

Members of the order Archaeogastropoda are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
