Description synthétique Morphologie

1.5 cm wide; exumbrella finely pitted; the 8 gonads elongate, slightly curved, smooth sacs with large, distinctly oval eggs, the position of which varies within the same specimen, the eggs not arranged in pairs; the disk rusty brown, stomach and filaments darker; gonads dark brown, tentacles colorless.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
