Short description Morphology

Stems up to 15 cm long, polysiphonic over a great extension. Branching dichotomous and in one plane. Branches strongly contracted at their base and originating at a position corresponding to a hydrotheca. Both stems and branches flattened. Hydrothecae arranged in subopposite or alternate pairs, forming two longitudinal series. In these series, hydrothecae may be closely approximated.
