Colony consisting of stolonal hydrothecae and nematothecae irregularly distributed on the substratum. Hydrotheca long and thin, approximately cylindrical, but frequently bending; without pedicel, but slightly narrowing at basal part. Hydrotheca with an operculum composed of ca 12 triangular flaps; apparently with slight delimitation between hydrotheca and opercular flaps. Nematothecae present, though much smaller than hydrothecae. Nematotheca long and thin and with a tiny and distal, circular aperture.
Shelf species. Collected at depths 5 to 470 on bottoms with sand, stones supporting hydroids, sponges and bryozoans, and bottoms of gravel covered with hydroids and alcyonarians. An epibiotic species found on hydroids (Ref. 7424), like Bougainvillia muscus (Ref. 87801).
