Maximum depth from Ref. 105473. Maximum length based on length frequency from Ref. 105473. Intertidal (Ref. 66513) to a depth of 18 m (Ref. 122475). It is found on hard substrates like rocks (Ref. 87801). Juveniles are abundant on sheltered habitats like sand and shell hash with boulders (Ref. 66513). Feeds on carrion, sea urchins (Ref. 87801), molluscs (Refs. 87801, 105267) and crustaceans (Ref. 105267).
