It is found on hard substrates like rocks (Ref. 87801). Juveniles are abundant on sheltered habitats like sand and shell hash with boulders (Ref. 66513). Feeds on carrion, sea urchins (Ref. 87801), molluscs (Refs. 87801, 105267) and crustaceans (Ref. 105267).
