25 to 35 cm wide; exumbrella with coarse granulations; about 16 lappets in each octant, all alike; arm-disk some-what wider than bell radius; moutharms about 1.5 times as long as bell radius, proximal portion on one-sixth as long as the distal, tapering, three winged portion; outer edges branch profusely and taper to a pointed end below; no appendages, intracircular network rather narrow, with nearly radial meshes, extracircular network very wide and fine-meshed, extending into the lappets.
Depth estimate based on ecology. Occurs commonly in estuaries, semi-enclosed coastal waters (Ref. 3046) like lagoons and shallow bays where it is abundant (Ref. 3048). Occurs in an estuarine front (Ref. 3046). Found at a depth of <1 m (Refs. 3046, 122801, 122802).
Medusae; gonochoristic (Ref. 3048). Can live for up to 13 months; within 1 to 3 months can grow to sexual maturity.
